Why I built Pulse
Dear friend,
My first job was being the CRM. For five years I worked in the U.S. Senate Majority Leader’s office, between Senators and Fortune 500 CEOs, and kept more than 500 relationships in one spreadsheet. One day a Senator asked me for the latest on one person, and I didn’t have it.
At Alibaba, working in Mandarin from Hangzhou, I helped more than 50 U.S. companies enter China. Then as a venture investor, the next deal always came from someone I already knew. In every job the relationships decided the outcome, and I never had a tool built for one person’s network.
In 2026 I no longer needed a team to build it. I’m the customer, and I run my own network of about 10,000 people on it.
